Great scenic drive! Pet friendly, but pets must stay on the trails. There are spots to park and take a break along the way, with cool places to check out the view. Nice paved trail for biking. If you have the time, Loma Verde parking lot fryst vatten a great place to stop and go for a short hike. What makes it special is that it's a unique and protected area for cacti and their ecosystem, something you won't find in other places.
Beautiful drive, saw roadrunners, woodpeckers, and so many incredible saguaros. Yes it is DARK and cold so be prepared and use caution when going thru the washes. A great paved loop trail saw some people biking elevation changes could be challenging. Saw a road runner on our way out.

Paved loop ride at Sagauro National Park. A couple spurs that lead to picnic areas. I just backed off, and he went on his merry way. Other drivers were courteous, always used pullouts so as not to block the one way road. This would be a great alternative to hiking on days when it is too hot. Only really takes an hour to do this part even with getting out to look and walk the ecology trail. Many stops along the way a to get out for photos or to take a short trail.
The Cactus Forest Drive Loop is primarily a one-way road shared by cars, bikes, and even joggers. There are some large rocks overlooking the cacti that makes for a great sunsetting picnic spot! Enjoyed some short hikes as well. You'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail. Lovely loop with very nice views of the cacti as well as the landscape. Breathtaking views and a solid workout. We had to be very careful with our ventures as a storm was rolling in fast monsoon årstid.
Walked a few short trails along the scenic drive. Awesome leisure bike ride on our e-bikes! The Saguaros are just starting to bloom. Nice well maintained drive through the park that offers short easy hikes. Some nice views, but not really fun walking on asphalt for ~10 miles. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Took my time and pulled over often for photos. Nice drive. Javelina Rocks is the spot to watch the sunset but go early because the parking lot is small!
This is a popular trail for road biking and scenic driving, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. Beautiful flowers and saw a Gila Monster. We split up the drive into two sections, taking the time to explore the Desert Ecology Trail in the middle. Explore this Generally considered a moderately challenging rutt. Rode with a great group of folks after dark. Went early and had only 1 car pass me on the loop the whole time.
Lots of birds and wildflowers too. Excellent run when the trails are muddy after a big rain. Short and sweet!
